social discovery app · co-founded
NearBlend
Find people, activities and places near you, and meet people who share your interests.
overview
People, places and plans around you.
NearBlend is a social app for discovering people, places and plans nearby, with a live map, discovery and chat.
I co-founded it and took it from the first commit to the App Store, Google Play and the web, and ran both store releases end to end.
- Live on Google Play (Sept 2026), the App Store (Oct 2026) and the web as a PWA, built with Flutter, Supabase and Mapbox.
- Realtime chat and group chats, push notifications on iOS, Android and the web, and a Discover ranking by Bayesian-adjusted rating, distance and reviews.
- Privacy and safety by design: Ghost Mode, no background location tracking, data stored in India, family-safe content and under-18s hidden by default.

Plans stay live for a few hours inside your radius, and each one gets its own group chat.
